Juvenile Detention Center Hiring Process
- Applications are received (including supplemental application, official copies of high school diploma/transcripts, college transcripts; a copy of birth certificate, driver’s license and social security card). In addition, if served in the military an official copy of military discharge paperwork.
- Applicants are preliminarily screened based upon pre-set criteria
- Selected candidates are invited for an oral interview
- Successful candidates are subject to a comprehensive and detailed background investigation, which includes a polygraph and psychological examination and fingerprinting
- Successful candidates are offered conditional employment pending successfully passing a drug screen and physical examination (including vision and color blind tests)
- Final offer of employment is made and start date is established
Hiring process from date of advertising to hire date usually takes up to 3 months.
