Full-time Aquatic Services Coordinator in the Parks and Recreation Department. The selected candidate will perform difficult skilled technical and administrative duties related to a comprehensive municipal indoor and outdoor aquatics program for youth, adults, seniors and special populations. Trains, supervises, and evaluates staff (lifeguards and instructors); manages scheduling, an aquatics budget, and all chemical and filter systems. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in parks and recreation, health and physical education or a related field and some related experience required. A valid driver’s license and possession of or ability to obtain an Aquatic Facility Operator Certification (or its equivalent), First Aid, CPR, and Lifesaving certifications required. |

Reviews development plans for compliance with City Codes, Ordinances and Standards, especially relating to sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water system, and street/sidewalk improvements as well as erosion and sediment control measures. Prepares design drawings and bid specifications. Ability to deal effectively with contractors and public required. Minimum Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by a valid State Board of Engineering Examiners and any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field required. |

Full-time Chief Operator to perform difficult technical and administrative work in the supervision of the operations and maintenance of the City’s Percy D. Miller Water Treatment Plant. In addition, the chosen candidate will train employees in procedures and methods; make general work assignments and regular inspections of equipment and facility; and assist with plant operations and maintenance. Must possess, or have the ability to obtain within six months, a Class I Water Operator’s License issued by the State of Virginia. Any combination of education or experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree in a related field and a valid driver’s license is required. |
