There will be a fee for service that will start on
July 1, 2006.
How do I get transported from the hospital to my home by ambulance?
The Winchester Fire and Rescue Department is licensed for emergency transport only. Patients can only be transported to the Emergency Room of Winchester Medical Center. Private ambulance services are available locally. Consult with your medical provider or the yellow pages as to any available services.
Why did you send a fire truck when I called for an ambulance for medical help?
Sufficient personnel and/or resource equipment response are customized based on the emergency incident types that is necessary to provide the expeditious and professional patient care.
How do I get hired by your department?

What are the requirements to become a volunteer Firefighter/EMT?
Contact can be made with the individual stations as to necessary requirements. Go to the Volunteering section of this web site for station contacts and information.
Would you allow me to ride along in an ambulance or fire truck?
Yes. Due to liability issues, the department requires you to obtain and complete a ride-along form. This form can be obtained from the individual stations or the Winchester Fire and Rescue Department administrative office.
