The City of Winchester is exploring the idea of a project on Monticello Street, Jones Street and Armour Dale, which would entail converting those streets to one-way traffic as shown on the attached schematic. The improvements that are being considered as a part of this project include:
- curb and gutter along the entire street
- drainage improvements
- underground water and sewer replacements
- new traffic signal at Valley Avenue and Armour Dale.
- provide Rubbermaid with a separate entrance for their trucks
The City was awarded $3 million from the state for infrastructure improvements that would directly benefit economic development in Winchester. The City was eligible for the funds due to Rubbermaid's recent expansion at their facility on Valley Avenue.
