Potential Expansion to Housing Choice Voucher Homeownership Program

Purpose: The Housing Choice Voucher homeownership Program administered by VHDA would permit eligible participants in the HCV Program, including participants with portable vouchers, the option of purchasing a home with their voucher assistance rather than renting.

Serves: Any VHDA participating voucher family that meets the requirements

Description: There are several family eligibility requirements that must be met to qualify for this program. If determined eligible, the monthly assistance payment is applied to the family’s monthly mortgage payment rather than a monthly rent payment.
