Hop into spring with WPRD at our middle school dance on Saturday, April 14 from 7-9 pm in the Jim Barnett Park gym. Attire must meet school dress code. Food will be available for purchase at minimal cost. SCHOOL ID is REQUIRED for admission.

Family Day Fishing Rodeo

Enjoy the Family Day Fishing Rodeo, the Park's annual fishing tournament for families (ages 4+), on Saturday, June 16 from 7-10 am at Wilkins Lake in Jim Barnett Park. Prizes will be awarded in eight divisions for the largest fish. Virginia State Fishing regulations apply. A Virginia fishing license is required for ages 16+. A special stocking is scheduled prior to the rodeo. Register in advance by 6/15 or day-of. Sponsored by Wilkins Trust Fund. Fee: $5. Activity #: 621347-06.

Swinging Fore Sports Golf Tournament

Grab your clubs, round up a team and join Winchester Parks and Recreation for the fifth annual "Swinging Fore Sports" golf tournament on June 22. The format is four-man captain's choice with a shotgun start at 1 pm. Dinner will be served following the tournament. Open to all ages. Fee: $320/team. Activity #: 621645-05. Register by: 6/18. Location: Winchester Country Club 

Liberty 5K and Kids Mile Race

Don't miss the 21st Annual Liberty 5K and Kids Mile Race on Wednesday, July 4 at 8 am. Open to all ages. The annual Liberty 5K course consists of a single loop around Jim Barnett Park and through the grounds of Shenandoah University using roads and sidewalks. The Kids Mile Race will be held immediately following the 5K race. Prizes and awards for top runners. Sponsored by Winchester Parks and Recreation and Shenandoah Valley Runners Club. Register online at Meet at Jim Barnett Park Kiwanis 2 Pavilion.
