Winchester Transit Public Notice of Rights under Title VI

Winchester Transit operates its programs and services without regard to race, color or national origin in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.  Any person who believes he or she has been aggrieved by any unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI may file a complaint with Winchester Transit.

A complainant may file a complaint directly with the Federal Transit Administration by filing a complaint with the Office of Civil Rights, Attention: Title VI Program Coordinator, East Building, 5th Floor-TCR, 1200 New Jersey Avenue, SE, Washington, DC 20590.

Filing a Complaint

Any person who believes that he or she has, individually, or as a member of any specific class of persons, been excluded from the participation in, been denied the benefits of, or been otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity for which Winchester Transit provides assistance, and believes the discrimination is based upon race, color, national origin, gender, age, economic status or limited English proficiency has the right to file a formal complaint. 

A complaint must be submitted within 180 days of the alleged discriminatory act.  Complaints may also be filed with the US Federal Transit Administration.  If a complaint addresses Winchester Transit, you may file the complaint in writing via email or mail or verbally via phone or in person.
