2019 Thanksgiving Week Schedule

The City of Winchester will operate on the following schedule in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday:

City of Winchester local government offices – CLOSED November 28-29

Winchester Transit – CLOSED November 28-29, regular schedule will resume on Saturday, November 30

Refuse Collection –

  • Thursday’s (11/28) refuse collection is MOVED for Wednesday, November 27
  • City-wide Yard Waste Collection is CANCELED on Wednesday, November 27
  • Friday’s (11/29) refuse collection will take place on the NORMAL schedule

Rec Center (Jim Barnett Park) – CLOSED November 28-29

Winchester-Frederick County Visitors Center (1400 S. Pleasant Valley Road) – CLOSED Thursday, November 28

Joint Judicial Center – Closes at noon on Wednesday, November 27 and is CLOSED November 28-29

Metered parking in Old Town Winchester – FREE November 28-December 1

Old Town Welcome Center (33 E. Boscawen Street) – CLOSED November 28-29

Old Town Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony

  • Monday, December 2
  • Parade - 7:00 pm (route: Piccadilly at Cameron to Braddock to Cork and end at Cameron)
  • Tree Lighting Ceremony with Santa - Loudoun Street Mall (1840 courthouse), immediately following the parade
  • Parade Parking - The Winchester Parking Authority is offering a flat rate of only $5 (cash only) for parking in any of the four downtown garages during the parade. Note: Patrons will not be able to exit Braddock Autopark during the parade. There are no restrictions at the three other garages.
