New this year, the City of Winchester will observe Columbus Day on October 12, 2020 and operate the below schedule. Please note that these changes were not included in the City’s annual informational calendar as the holiday was officially added to the City’s schedule after the calendar was printed.
- City administrative offices are closed on Monday, October 12.
- WinTran routes are canceled on Monday, October 12. Service resumes on Tuesday, October 13.
- Monday’s (October 12) recycling collection is rescheduled for Wednesday, October 14. Yard Waste is canceled on October 14.
- Jim Barnett Park Rec Center is closed on Columbus Day.
- Joint Judicial Center is closed on Columbus Day.
- Metered parking in Old Town Winchester is always free on weekends and designated holidays including Columbus Day.
- Winchester-Frederick County Visitors Center, located at 1400 S. Pleasant Valley Road, will be open on Columbus Day from 9 am-5 pm to greet and assist residents and visitors.
