Rockin' the Library

Handley Regional Library System is excited to announce a fun-filled “Rockin’ the Library” Event with famous authors and illustrators, cupcakes, real llamas, and more on June 24 at Handley Library from 4:30 to 6:30 PM in a partnership with the Shenandoah University Children’s Literature Conference for the entire family! 

This is the 5th Annual Event to meet special authors and illustrators, including: 

  • GREG PIZZOLI from "Baloney and Friends" and "The Watermelon Seed" 
  • JONATHAN STUTZMAN from "Llama Destroys the World" and "Tiny T. Rex" 
  • HEATHER FOX from "Llama Destroys the World" and "Don't Feed the Coos!" 
  • DEBORAH FREEDMAN from "Carl and the Meaning of Life" and "Is Was" 

The honored guests will then parade down to the streets in front of the library. Enjoy live music and photo booth fun from Repeatable DJ, delicious shaved ice from Kona Ice Food Truck, get autographed books, have your face painted by Face Paint with Rachel, pet a real llama, and more! Special thanks to the Claude Moore Foundation and the Friends of Handley Regional Library System.
