Poles Park

Unusable Land Becomes Community Green Space

The City's newest park, Poles Park, is coming soon to the corner of Frederick Ave. and Maple St! This new green space for the community will be named after legendary baseball player Spottswood Poles, born in Winchester in 1887.

The 10,000 sq ft of land between Frederick Ave. and the Grafton School on Elm St. was first donated to the City by Elizabeth Helm.

The City team has been working diligently to redo the gravel from Frederick Ave. to the park entrance, clearing out underbrush, creating a walking trail, and restoring the area's natural beauty, including the stream and tree canopy.
