Public Transportation

ATTENTION:

  • Do not use public transportation if you are sick. If you are showing symptoms, please use an alternate mode of transportation.

  • Limit public transportation use to essential trips only – trips to work for essential works and to meet essential needs (e.g., grocery store and medical trips, but not if you are sick).

COVID-19 Changes:

  • All Winchester Transit routes and para-transit will operate from 8:50 am to 4:55 pm.
  • No Trolley service until further notice.
  • No service to Jim Barnett Park, WMC Wellness Center (except for scheduled Physical Therapy patients), Shenandoah University, and Apple Blossom Mall due to closures.
  • Winchester Transit will follow the limits set by Gov. Northam and will not allow more than 10 passengers on a bus at any given time.

Note: All routes begin and end from the bus stop on Boscawen Street between the Cameron Street Parking garage and the Joint Judicial Center (between Cameron and Kent Streets).

Half-Fare:

  • Senior citizens, individuals with disabilities or Medicare card holders

ATTENTION:

  • Passengers must have exact fare.  Drivers are unable to make change.
  • Transfers will only be honored for the route in which it is issued.  There will be no charge for transfers from one route to another during the same trip.

Handicap Accessibility

All City buses are also equipped with wheelchair lifts for individuals with disabilities.

para-transit service is also offered for individuals with a temporary or permanent disability that does not allow them to take advantage of the fixed-route transit service. Click here for a para-transit application.
