Overview

Welcome to the HIVE, HIVE Club, and Summer Camp!

Winchester Parks and Recreation hosts a fun, caring place for children to spend their after-school hours with HIVE and HIVE Club, and full summer days with our Summer Camp program. We offer a wide variety of both active and passive activities including sports, enrichment, games, crafts, and much more! Registration is required for all childcare programs.

HIVE and HIVE Club

HIVE and HIVE Club are open to students attending Winchester Public Schools (WPS) grades K-6 and are offered from the first day to the last day of school, from school dismissal to 6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. Students can be enrolled as weekly members or as An10a occasional use coupon users. An10a coupons are only valid for the current school year. Auto debit payment is required for all households. Financial Aid is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Financial Aid Application(PDF, 397KB) Only completed financial aid packets will be considered. 2024-2025 School Year

  • Begins August 12, 2024
  • Operating Hours are from dismissal of school until 6:00 p.m.
  • Transportation is provided by Winchester Public Schools.
  • Closed Dates: 9/2/24, 10/14/24, 11/27/24-11/29/24, 12/23/24-1/3/25, 1/20/25, 2/17/25, 4/18/25, 5/2/25, 5/26/25.
  • Note: HIVE will no longer be accepting Pre-K students.
  • Registration opens ONLINE at 10:00 a.m. on TUESDAY, 7/9/24. You must have a CommunityPass account created before registering. Phone registrations will not be taken.
  • Registration will remain open until all spots are filled.
  • Spots are limited and will fill quickly.
  • Week 1/"An10a" Coupon Book fees due at time of registration.
  • Weekly fees will be charged using Auto Debit on a weekly basis throughout the school year. "An10a" Coupon Books can be renewed throughout the year.
  • HIVE is for students in grades K-4.
  • HIVE Club is for students in grades 5-6.

No School Days

On days that Winchester Public Schools are closed for teacher workdays/professional development days, we are OPEN! This program is for HIVE and HIVE Club members, "An10a" users, and WPS students ages 5-12 who don't otherwise attend.

  • Pre-registration is required. Day of drop ins will not be accepted.
  • Register by the Monday before the date needed.
  • All students need to bring a packed lunch.

Summer Camp

Children will experience many activities such as swimming, field trips, physical activity, and a lot of outdoor fun! Children will need to bring with them daily: a water bottle, tennis/running shoes, lunch, and a morning snack. Afternoon snack will be provided by WPRD. On pool days, children will need to bring a swim suit, towel, sunscreen, and pool shoes (for the pool area only). Summer Camp dates will vary depending on the last day of the current school year. Summer Camp is open to all local students. First week's fee is due at time of registration. 

Summer 2024 - NOW FULL/REGISTRATION CLOSED

  • June 10 - August 9, 2024
  • Operating Hours: 7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
  • Transportation is provided by Winchester Public Schools.
  • Ages: 6-12 (as of June 1, 2024). All 6 year-olds must have attended Kindergarten.
  • Bring: Lunch and a morning snack (food must not require heating or refrigeration). Afternoon snack is provided.
  • Registration opens ONLINE at 10:00 a.m. on TUESDAY, 4/9/24 for CITY residents (22601 zip code).
  • Registration opens ONLINE at 10:00 a.m. on WEDNESDAY, 4/10/24 for non-City residents.
    • Registration will remain open until all spots are filled. Spots are limited and will fill quickly.
    • Payment for the first week of attendance is due at registration.
    • All other registered weeks will be charged using Auto Debit on a weekly basis.
    • AS OF 4/22/24, Summer Camp is full and registration is CLOSED.
  • RDF Fee

    Sibling Discount $5 $5
  • Cancellation: One week WRITTEN notice must be given to terminate your spot. A non-refundable $20 cancellation fee will be charged.
