On Friday, July 4, City offices, the Jim Barnett Park Rec Center, Winchester Transit, and the Joint Judicial Center are closed. The Outdoor Pool at Jim Barnett Park is OPEN.

Park Facilities

Jim Barnett Park

Jim Barnett Park features over 170 acres of beautiful green space and amenities.

Rec Center / War Memorial Building at Jim Barnett Park

The Rec Center in Jim Barnett Park is the primary indoor location for all things WPRD!

Pools

Winchester Parks and Recreation offers 2 options for swimming, both located in Jim Barnett Park. The Outdoor Pool is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. The Indoor Pool is open year-round.

Sports and Athletics

Winchester Parks and Recreation offers a variety of sports and athletics facilities including ballfields, soccer fields, and more.

Trails and Natural Areas

Winchester Parks and Recreation maintains a number of trails throughout the city for walking, running and biking. There are also natural greenspaces perfect for playing and relaxing.

Facility Rentals

Find information on renting a Parks and Recreation facility for your next party, event, meeting, or game.

Dog Park

The Winchester Dog Park, located in Jim Barnett Park, is open free to the public and offers two fenced sections (small dog area and large dog area) complete with play equipment, running water (April-October), picnic tables and more.

Pavilions

Jim Barnett Park has over 15 pavilions throughout the main park ranging from single covered picnic tables around Wilkins Lake to gathering areas for up to 150 people.
