The Community Development Department includes, planning and zoning, building inspections and enforcement, and housing and urban development.

Building Inspections and Enforcement

Building inspections and enforcement staff ensure properties comply with state and local codes that promote public health and safety standards.

Housing and Urban Development

Community Development staff are responsible for administering several programs from the United Stated Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Planning and Zoning

Planning and zoning staff assist City Council, appointed boards and commissions, and the citizens of Winchester in anticipating the future needs and desires of the community and ensuring that physical development within the community is consistent with that vision.
