Recognizing Destanie Swanigan as January 2025 Employee of the Month

The City of Winchester is proud to recognize Destanie Swanigan, Fleet Service Writer, as the January 2025 Employee of the Month.

When reviewing the qualifications and criteria for Employee of the Month, Destanie unquestionably stands out. With a contagious enthusiasm and exceptional organizational skills, she leaves her footprint on nearly every aspect of the City Garage’s daily operations. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Destanie manages her wide-ranging responsibilities with professionalism and efficiency.

For anyone dropping off or picking up a vehicle, Destanie is quickly recognized as the “quarterback” of garage operations. She maintains a thorough understanding of the goals and requirements for each vehicle, coordinating maintenance scheduling, parts ordering, billing, and countless other responsibilities. Her attention to detail and comprehensive knowledge make her an invaluable resource to staff and customers alike.

During the month of November, Destanie also played an instrumental role in supporting a new supervisor in a newly created position. Fleet Operations Manager Rob Teasdale shared, “Destanie has displayed the utmost support and coaching to get me up to speed. Her understanding of our new mission comes with a wealth of feedback and fresh ideas. Our growth and continuous improvement depend on employees like Destanie.”
