Computer Buy Back Program

City employees now have the option to buy back their existing hardware (laptop or desktops only) once eligible for Refresh. Once your new refresh PC has been installed, we will send out an email to the employee to notify them of the Buy Back Program. If you are interested in purchasing the PC, you must respond within 14 days and you will have an additional 30 days to make the payment and take possession of the computer.

Step 1.Decide on which Option

Option 1: The PC hard drive will be removed, and the employee will need to purchase a hard drive and operating system. 

Option 2: The PC hard drive will be wiped via Blancco Drive Eraser using the NIST SP 800-88 erasure standard at a charge of $13.00 per device. Employees will need to purchase an operating system.

Please note that for either option - the employee is responsible for purchasing and installing their own operating system.
