Winchester has launched a multi-year restoration project along Abrams Creek to address erosion, pollution, and stormwater issues. The effort includes stream reconstruction, invasive species removal, and replanting with native vegetation to improve water quality and ecosystem health. The project will also help reduce flooding and enhance the long-term resilience of the area. The project is located in Jim Barnett Park between Lowry Drive and Ralph Sockey Drive, near the Christianson Familyland Playground.
