Early Life and Education: Terry Sloane was born and raised in Winchester, Virginia. From a young age, she developed a strong sense of community and service, qualities that would later define her career. Terry pursued her education with a focus on the sciences, which laid the foundation for her future career as a dental technician.

Career in Transportation: Terry began her career in public service as a school bus driver, a role she embraced for its impact on the lives of children and families. Over the course of 26 years, Terry has dedicated herself to the safe and reliable transportation of students. She spent 17 years driving for Frederick County Public Schools, where she became well-known for her friendly demeanor and commitment to her young passengers. In the past three years, Terry has continued her service with Winchester Public Schools, bringing her extensive experience and passion for education to the local community.

Entrepreneurial Ventures: In addition to her work in transportation, Terry is an accomplished entrepreneur. In 2015, she opened T-Bones Bar & Grill, a local favorite known for its welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. Under her leadership, the establishment quickly became a community hub, hosting events and gatherings that brought people together. Prior to this, Terry owned and operated Carter’s Dental Lab for two years, where she applied her skills as a dental technician, a profession she excelled in for 25 years.

Community Engagement: Terry is also deeply committed to preserving local history and promoting cultural awareness. She serves as a trolley driver for a Black History Month tour led by local historian Ms. Judy Humbert, sharing stories and insights that celebrate the rich heritage of the community. Her involvement in this initiative reflects her dedication to education and her belief in the importance of understanding and honoring the past. Terry occasionally teams up with the Cut From a Different Cloth Car Club, participating in numerous events throughout the year. Her passion for cars and community engagement allows her to connect with others who share her interests, fostering friendships and camaraderie.

Personal Life: Outside of her professional endeavors, Terry enjoys spending time with her family and friends, often finding joy in community gatherings and local events. Her vibrant personality and genuine care for others make her a beloved figure in the Winchester area.
