Tim Youmans Honored as Employee of the Month
Tim Youmans Honored as Employee of the Month
Published on July 11, 2024
YOU ROCK, Tim Youmans, our planning director for 36 years and July Employee of the Month (or past several decades).
At Tuesday's City Council Meeting, Tim's last before he retires at the end of the month, the City Manager recognized him as our employee of the month for July. Then, Mayor Smith and City Council recognized him further with a proclamation thanking him for his service to the City of Winchester.
City Manager Dan Hoffman summed up Tim's incredible contributions to the City of Winchester by saying, "Whether you’re an individual who happened to work with Tim, a new city manager coming in, or just a general member of the public, you probably have not met somebody who has had more influence over the growth and development of the city over the past generation plus."
Tim Youmans by the numbers:
Oversaw 1,779 site plans
Around 1,000 major and minor subdivisions
240 rezonings
332 conditional-use permits
Almost 5,000 certificates of appropriateness
Almost 900 Planning Commission meetings, work sessions, and retreats
A BOATLOAD of text amendments and right-of-way vacations
The proclamation read by Mayor Smith ended with, "Now, therefore, be it resolved that I, John David Smith, Jr., as Mayor of the City of Winchester, along with Common Council, do hereby proclaim Tim Youmans as an outstanding citizen and honorable Planning Director and through this proclamation celebrate his dedication and years of service to the City of Winchester."
